While the climate crisis is ultimately a global issue, it does not affect all of us equally: socioeconomic status, geography, gender and more contribute to the impact of climate effects on individuals and communities. All too often, those suffering the brunt of the damage are those whose contributions to the crisis have been minimal and whose work toward finding solutions has been the most earnest. It’s our collective responsibility to heed the voices of those who are most vulnerable to the effects of climate change and work proactively with them to reverse the harmful trends we’re seeing.
